Bill Bolling's remarks on new Attorney General

RICHMOND - Earlier today, the State Senate and House of Delegates unanimously elected William J. Mims to succeed Bob McDonnell as Attorney General of Virginia. In response to this action, Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling issued the following statement:

“I commend the members of the Senate and House of Delegates for choosing wisely and selecting William J. Mims to serve as Attorney General of Virginia. I had the privilege of serving in the State Senate with Bill Mims for several years, and I always found him to be one of the smartest and most effective members of the General Assembly. In addition, Bill has served with distinction as the Chief Deputy Attorney General of Virginia for the past three years. I have every confidence that Bill will do an outstanding job filling the unexpired portion of Bob McDonnell’s term, and I can think of no one who is more qualified and better prepared to assume these important duties than Bill. I look forward to working with him in the coming months.”
